At Ewii Fibernet, we have customers throughout the Triangle Region, and our 25 technicians travel around the area to service them as needed. We needed a better overview of the geographical distribution of tasks so we could plan our technicians’ time more efficiently. We achieved this with PilotBI.

We lacked a geographical overview of our tasks

The tasks of our field technicians are coordinated by two employees in the office. In our IT system, we can see the tasks, and the administrative staff plan and distribute them among the individual technicians. In theory, the IT system should also have been able to give us an overview of where the tasks were located geographically—but it simply didn’t work.

As a result, planning was too often random. Our technicians sometimes found themselves waving at each other several times a day because they were driving in the same areas, while at other times long distances were driven for a single task.

This is both costly, time-consuming, and frustrating for employees when task planning does not work properly. That is why I was advised to contact Virkplan—and I have been very happy that I did. I often experience that IT projects can become very drawn-out, and I was not interested in starting a large and time-consuming project.
